Manager, Communications & Engagement

About the role

The Manager, Communications & Engagement will lead AFCA’s Stakeholder Engagement function, setting priorities, overseeing quality and building capability to meet both planned and emerging needs. You will prepare senior leaders for high‑profile external engagements and help embed a strategic approach to stakeholder management across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Stakeholder Engagement function, managing priorities, capacity and quality assurance.
• Prepare executive briefing packs, speeches, presentations and panel materials for senior leaders.
• Support implementation of AFCA’s stakeholder engagement strategy and maintain an enterprise‑wide view of priority relationships.
• Coordinate with Strategic Communications and Media teams to ensure consistent messaging.
• Monitor stakeholder feedback and sector developments, turning intelligence into actionable insights for senior decision‑makers.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, strategic communications, corporate affairs or related fields.
• Experience advising executives within a complex organisation.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to build trusted relationships.
• Excellent judgement, organisational awareness and ability to manage competing priorities.

Required skills

• Exceptional writing skills for executive briefs, speeches and presentations.
• Ability to analyse stakeholder context, identify risks and translate complex information into clear recommendations.
