Manager, Application Strategy & Governance

About the role

IAG, the largest general insurance group in Australia and New Zealand, is looking for a Manager, Application Strategy & Governance. You will lead technology strategy, governance and platform direction across the Claims, Communications and Supply Chain portfolios, working between architecture, engineering, delivery and business teams. This is a permanent full-time role based in Darling Park 2 (Sydney), Melbourne or Brisbane.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Technology Leads and Platform Leaders, fostering a high-performing engineering culture.
• Provide technology leadership across strategic programs, platforms and transformation initiatives.
• Drive solution design, architecture governance and technology decision-making across the portfolio.
• Partner with business, architecture, engineering and delivery teams to achieve successful outcomes.
• Own technology roadmaps and platform strategies, aligned to business priorities.
• Champion innovation, AI adoption and modern engineering practices.
• Balance technical excellence, operational stability and delivery outcomes.

Required profile

• Strong technology leadership experience in large, complex enterprise environments.
• Background in senior technology platform or architecture leadership roles.
• Proven experience delivering technology strategy, platform roadmaps and large-scale transformation initiatives.
• Experience leading senior technical professionals, architects or technology communities.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across business and technology teams.
