Major Programmes Director – Infrastructure & Defence

About the role

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Major Programmes Director to lead and expand its Infrastructure and Defence capability in Western Australia. This senior leadership position combines strategic market growth, major programme delivery, and executive client engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Drive market growth across infrastructure and defence through strategic leadership, opportunity shaping and programme mobilisation.
• Lead the pursuit, structuring and winning of major programmes and complex, multi‑project commissions.
• Provide executive direction across the full lifecycle of large‑scale, highly regulated programmes.
• Manage complex programme environments with multiple workstreams, stakeholders and supply‑chain partners.
• Act as a trusted senior advisor, building enduring relationships and delivering outstanding client outcomes.
• Lead, inspire and develop high‑performing, cross‑disciplinary teams.
• Champion innovation, systems thinking and best‑practice programme delivery.
• Represent the business at a senior level, embedding values, governance and operational excellence.

Required profile

• Australian citizen able to obtain an Australian Baseline/NV1 security clearance.
• Proven experience at Programme Director or Programme Executive level on large‑scale infrastructure or defence programmes.
• Strong track record in winning, establishing and leading major programmes within regulated environments.
• Significant background in programme, project or construction management at Principal or equivalent level.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross‑functional teams across multiple disciplines.
• Deep understanding of programme governance, commercial frameworks and collaborative contracting models.
• Knowledge of infrastructure sectors such as defence, maritime and nuclear.
