Maintenance Officer for Retail Centre

About the role

The Maintenance Officer supports the seamless operation of a major retail centre, ensuring all building systems function safely and efficiently. You will be responsible for routine upkeep, repairs, and preventive maintenance to minimise disruptions for retailers and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and service facilities including toilets, loading docks, malls, lighting, signage, carparks and gates.
• Identify maintenance needs, manage procurement of tools and supplies, and complete repairs based on inspections.
• Administer the computerized maintenance management system, issue work orders and track job completion statistics.
• Support emergency management procedures, operate emergency equipment and maintain asset knowledge for responders.
• Assist with minor capital expenditure projects and oversee routine inspections of elevated work platforms and vehicles.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing building services through trade work (plumbing, electrical, HVAC).
• Ability to deliver reactive maintenance and allocated projects on time and within budget.
• Awareness of risk registers, health & safety, and emergency response responsibilities.
• Understanding of contractor management, permit issuance and compliance with safety regulations.
