Maintenance Fitter – Rotating Day/Afternoon Roster

About the role

Visy is seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join its Gepps Cross Board Plant on a permanent basis. The role operates on a rotating weekly roster of day and afternoon shifts, offering regular overtime, RDOs and penalty rates for weekend work.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs, routine preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns across the plant.
• Use the CMMS system MEX for job tracking, maintenance planning and documentation.
• Repair parts through machining and basic welding, and diagnose faults independently.
• Collaborate with the electrical team and production staff to minimise downtime and support project installations.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Mechanical Fitter (trade qualification).
• Proven experience in preventative and breakdown maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work autonomously, think creatively to resolve breakdowns and maintain a strong safety focus.
