Maintenance Electrician

About the role

The Maintenance Electrician will be based on‑site in Mackay, Queensland, performing routine and corrective electrical maintenance on plant and equipment. This full‑time position supports safe, reliable and efficient operation of industrial assets while working closely with operations and shutdown teams.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical faults and carry out repairs on industrial equipment.
• Execute preventive maintenance programmes, including scheduled inspections and servicing.
• Document all maintenance activities in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with operations, shutdown and multi‑disciplinary teams to minimise downtime and meet production targets.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, lockout/tagout and Australian electrical standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electrical maintenance within an industrial or mining environment.
• Strong troubleshooting ability to identify and resolve electrical issues.
• Relevant electrical trade qualification and a current electrical licence (or eligibility to obtain).
• Commitment to safe work practices, including hazard identification and lockout/tagout.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Previous shutdown work experience is highly regarded.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to meet site access and medical requirements.
