Locum Clinical Pharmacist - Alice Springs Corrections Centre

About the role

A locum clinical pharmacist is needed in the Alice Springs area, starting mid-January 2027 for 6-12 months (minimum 3 months), working in a Corrections Centre. The role is largely non-dispensing and involves clinical checks of scripts, ordering, and coordinating medication distribution to prisoners. It is a Monday to Friday position with no work on weekends or public holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Clinical checks of scripts and ordering
• Liaise with nursing and medical staff and speak with prisoner clients
• Distribute client medications weekly to the cell blocks
• Coordinate medication distribution and liaise with health professionals
• Counsel clients when needed

Required profile

• Clinical or experienced community pharmacist with 3+ years of experience
• Open to working in a Corrections Centre
• AHPRA registration, two reference checks, National Police Check and professional indemnity insurance
• Current driver's licence; Working with Children's clearance available from NT Safe
• Evidence of pharmacy qualification (image of qualification or official transcripts)
• White pharmacist coat required
