Locum Clinical Pharmacist – Alice Springs Corrections Centre

About the role

A locum clinical pharmacist is urgently needed in the Alice Springs area, starting as soon as possible for 8 weeks or longer. The role is largely non-dispensing and involves clinical checks of scripts and ordering, coordinating medication distribution and counselling clients. It is a Monday to Friday position with no work on weekends or public holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Clinical checks of scripts and ordering
• Liaise with nursing and medical staff and speak with prisoner clients
• Distribute client medications weekly by visiting the cell blocks
• Coordinate medication distribution and liaise with health professionals
• Counsel clients when needed
• Provide a safe clinical pharmacy service in line with national standards, legislation, regulations, local policies, guidelines and codes of practice

Required profile

• Clinical or experienced community pharmacist with 3+ years of experience
• Open to working in a corrections centre
• Police check working with children document
• White pharmacist coat required

What we offer

• Pay of $70.85-$99.36 per hour inclusive of superannuation, depending on experience
• Flight reimbursement of up to $1000 from any state
