Local Area Marketing Specialist

About the role

El Jannah is seeking a Local Area Marketing Specialist to deepen community connections across NSW and the ACT while ensuring the brand experience is consistent in every store. Based in the Olympic Park office, you will build authentic relationships, run grassroots activations, and act as the brand’s eyes and ears in local outlets.

Key responsibilities

• Protect and strengthen El Jannah’s brand equity across NSW and the ACT, keeping its Western Sydney roots front‑and‑centre.
• Plan and execute community‑led activations such as football watch‑alongs, school partnerships, nightlife events and cultural tie‑ins.
• Develop lasting relationships with clubs, schools, cultural organisations and grassroots networks.
• Coordinate local area marketing for each store, tailoring activities to neighbourhood demographics and foot traffic.
• Support new store openings by linking them to local community and cultural activities from day one.
• Maintain suburb‑level knowledge of every store, including competitor landscape and local identity.
• Track and report on community engagement, activation performance and brand sentiment.
• Share local insights with the broader Marketing team to refine strategy as the network grows.

Required profile

• Proven experience in grassroots, underground or community‑led activation rather than traditional marketing.
• Understanding of how sport, music, mass cultural affiliation and food intersect.
• Ability to build authentic relationships with clubs, community groups and cultural networks.
• Deep cultural fluency with the communities El Jannah serves.
• Creative initiative to design activations from scratch without a template.
• Sound judgement to protect brand authenticity.
• Comfort working on the ground, coordinating multiple local activities and partners.
• Willingness to travel regularly across NSW and the ACT.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
