Lifestyle Support Worker - Rockhampton

About the role

Lifestyle support workers (LSWs) support recipients to live their best lives, helping them build confidence, work towards their goals and improve their mental wellbeing. The role works one-on-one in the homes and communities of recipients so they can live as independently as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Support recipients in their homes with activities such as cleaning and organising, preparing healthy meals and maintaining a yard.
• Help recipients make positive choices and improve their confidence accessing the community.
• Support recipients in activities that help them achieve their goals.
• Provide transport to and from activities such as shopping, the gym, social events and appointments.

Required profile

• Current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland driver's licence.
• A currently registered, roadworthy and fully comprehensive vehicle.
• Nationally recognised First Aid and CPR certificate (or ability to obtain).
• Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) or ability to obtain.
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or ability to obtain.
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module "Quality, Safety & You".

Required skills

• Clear and effective communication skills.
• Computer literacy and accurate record management.
• Teamwork, problem solving and ability to follow policies and procedures.
• Ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals.
