Legal Counsel

About the role

Join the Australian Grand Prix Corporation’s Legal & Strategy Department as a Legal Counsel. You will provide clear, commercially‑focused legal advice to support business decisions and work closely with stakeholders on procurement and tender activities.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements.
• Support procurement and tender processes, including preparing documentation, evaluating bids and ensuring compliance with Victorian Government procurement frameworks.
• Maintain accurate contract records and manage contract management systems.
• Assist with legal function administration such as budgeting, invoice processing and reporting.
• Contribute to governance processes and fulfil compliance obligations.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Law and a current Australian practising certificate.
• 1‑2 years post‑qualification experience (PQE).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey legal concepts clearly.
• Confidence in engaging and building rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
• Current Police Check and Victorian Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain them.
