Legal Assistant - WorkCover and TAC Litigation

About the role

IDP Lawyers is a specialist defendant litigation firm representing Victorian government agencies and statutory authorities such as WorkSafe Victoria and the Transport Accident Commission (TAC). It is looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join its litigation team, providing administrative and secretarial support to lawyers working across WorkCover and TAC matters.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, format and manage legal correspondence, court documents and briefs to counsel
• Manage electronic files, document filing and general matter administration
• Coordinate diaries, court dates, appointments and deadlines
• File documents with courts and relevant authorities
• Support lawyers with the day-to-day administration of litigation matters

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting WorkCover and/or TAC litigation matters is essential
• Sound understanding of personal injury litigation processes and terminology
• Experience in defendant litigation is particularly well regarded

Required skills

• Document production and Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Confidence managing competing priorities and deadlines
• Proactive, dependable and team-oriented approach
