Lecturer / Senior Lecturer – Orthodontics

About the role

The Sydney Dental School is seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Orthodontics to join its faculty on a full‑time continuing basis. The role involves teaching, curriculum development, clinical supervision and research within a leading Australian dental school.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deliver and evaluate high‑quality orthodontic teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
• Supervise research students and coordinate multidisciplinary work‑integrated learning units.
• Provide specialist clinical supervision and orthodontic treatment to patients at Sydney Dental Hospital and Westmead Centre for Oral Health.
• Develop and organise continuing education courses for Sydney Health Executive Education.
• Contribute to the university’s strategic agenda through research, grant acquisition and academic leadership.

Required profile

• Dental qualification registrable with the Dental Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Specialist Orthodontic qualification recognised by the Dental Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Extensive teaching experience in orthodontics, including postgraduate education (minimum five years for senior level).
• Proven research record with publications in recognised journals and ability to secure research grants.
• Current full AHPRA dental and specialist orthodontics registration in Australia.
