Lecturer – Politics and International Relations

About the role
Monash University’s School of Social Sciences is seeking a full‑time Lecturer in Politics and International Relations. The position combines high‑quality teaching with an active research agenda, supporting both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Key responsibilities
- Design, prepare and deliver lectures, seminars, tutorials and workshops for large introductory and specialised courses.
- Coordinate subject delivery, develop curriculum materials and contribute to course enhancement.
- Supervise honours and postgraduate coursework and research students, including assessment and feedback.
- Maintain an active research programme, publish in peer‑reviewed journals and pursue external research funding.
- Participate in departmental meetings, committees and other collegial duties.
Required profile
- Doctoral qualification in Political Science, International Relations, Public Administration or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated record of peer‑reviewed publications and research activity.
- Strong tertiary teaching experience with ability to engage diverse student cohorts.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.

- Competitive salary range $123,138 – $146,228 per annum plus 17 % superannuation.
