About the role

The University of Southern Queensland seeks an innovative Lecturer to lead curriculum design and pedagogy in Contemporary Music and Education across its Initial Teacher Education, Bachelor of Music and Master of Education programmes. Key responsibilities

• Deliver student‑centred teaching using face‑to‑face and blended modes, integrating digital technologies.
• Conduct research that generates high‑impact outputs and attracts external funding.
• Mentor higher‑degree‑by‑research students and support research team development.
• Contribute to internal service, professional development, and external community partnerships.

Required profile

• Doctoral or master’s qualification (or equivalent accreditation) in a relevant discipline.
• Teacher registration with an Australian authority or eligibility to obtain it, plus a working‑with‑children check.
• Proven teaching experience in initial teacher education and contemporary music practice.
• Evidence of scholarly activity in teaching and learning, and ability to secure research funding.
