Education Support Teacher (Fixed‑term)

About the role

Coastal Lakes College is seeking an enthusiastic Education Support Teacher to join its Inclusive Education Department. The role involves designing and delivering highly differentiated learning programs and Individual Education Plans for students requiring substantial to extensive adjustments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized programs and IEPs that address academic, social‑emotional, life‑skills and protective behaviours goals.
• Collaborate with families, therapists and external agencies to support student wellbeing and learning outcomes.
• Lead classroom teams and contribute to whole‑college improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education and experience supporting students with disability, neurodivergent learners or complex communication needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external partners.

Required skills

• Knowledge of evidence‑based practices for students with disability and neurodivergent profiles.
• Understanding of trauma‑informed practice and inclusive teaching strategies.
• Experience developing high‑quality IEPs that incorporate functional curriculum and life‑skills goals.
