Lecturer in Health and Physical Education

About the role

The University of Melbourne seeks a Lecturer to advance teaching, research, and leadership within Health, Outdoor, Physical Education and Sport (HOPES). You will join a vibrant academic team, delivering undergraduate and graduate courses and contributing to scholarly activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver diverse teaching modalities, develop curricula, and coordinate subject administration, including supervision of sessional staff.
• Assess student progress, provide feedback, and monitor teaching quality for continuous improvement.
• Conduct and disseminate scholarship in HOPES, secure research funding, supervise graduate research students, and engage in national and international academic forums.
• Provide leadership through professional development, committee participation, and collaboration with professional and community organisations.

Required profile

• PhD or research doctorate relevant to HOPES with a focus on education and teaching.
• Experience in course/subject development, coordination, and student placement support.
• Developing research profile with strong publication record and ability to obtain research funding and supervise graduate students.
• Proficiency in digital literacy and contemporary digital pedagogies.
