Lecturer in English (Literary Studies)

About the role

The School of Humanities & Social Sciences seeks a Lecturer in English to deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences, focusing on literary studies, across undergraduate English and Writing units.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging teaching in face‑to‑face, blended and online formats.
• Coordinate and develop units, including curriculum design and continuous improvement.
• Create inclusive, academically rigorous learning experiences that support student success.
• Contribute to innovative teaching practices and assessment approaches.
• Maintain an active research and scholarly profile appropriate to a teaching‑intensive Level B position.

Required profile

• PhD in literary studies or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience teaching literary studies at university level, including unit coordination.
• Emerging or established research and scholarly profile suitable for a Level B academic.

Required skills

• Design, delivery and assessment of high‑quality curriculum aligned with learning outcomes.
• Experience delivering inclusive learning across face‑to‑face, blended and online environments.
