Leading Hand / Dispatch (Day Shift)

About the role

BlueScope Distribution is seeking a Leading Hand / Dispatch for the day shift in Townsville. You will support the Operations Supervisor by coordinating warehouse, processing and dispatch activities, ensuring safe and timely product flow.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Operations Supervisor in daily planning, work allocation and team guidance.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound stock movements, including receipting, load allocation and dispatch documentation.
• Operate forklifts and cranes to safely load, unload, pick and store steel and metal products.
• Liaise with transport providers, customers, drivers and sales teams to ensure smooth deliveries.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement and operational performance.

Required profile

• Experience leading or influencing a team in a warehouse, manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Current forklift licence with proven safe operation.
• Competency in crane operation or relevant experience.
• Strong safety focus, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
