Leading Hand Civil Construction

About the role

The Leading Hand Civil Construction is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Brisbane, Queensland. You will work closely with the Site Supervisor to coordinate daily activities, supervise crews and ensure that all work is completed safely, on schedule and to the required specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day site operations and allocate resources.
• Supervise and direct construction crews, providing clear instructions.
• Monitor work quality, assist with inspections and ensure compliance with project standards.
• Arrange delivery of materials and equipment as needed.
• Enforce safety procedures and report progress or issues to management.
• Support a positive, productive work environment on site.

Required profile

• Proven supervisory experience on civil construction sites (earthworks, drainage, roads, utilities).
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with crews, supervisors and clients.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Commitment to upholding construction safety practices.
• Valid driver’s licence and relevant plant operation tickets are desirable.
