About the role

Port Lincoln Hospital, part of the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network, is looking for a Leading Hand Catering for a permanent part-time position of 30 hours per week on a 7-day roster. The role leads and coordinates the day-to-day catering operations, supporting patient comfort and recovery through a small, close-knit services team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate catering operations, including food preparation, service and delivery to patients
• Support general housekeeping and laundry duties in line with Infection Control and Food Safety Standards
• Guide and support Services Assistants, modelling safe work practices
• Maintain accurate records and complete administrative tasks using Microsoft Word and Excel

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in catering, housekeeping or laundry within a health, aged care or institutional setting
• Sound knowledge of Food Safety Standards and Infection Control processes, including cleaning and sanitising
• Understanding of occupational health, safety and welfare obligations and risk management
• Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to varied rosters, including the 7-day pattern
• Effective communication and respect for people from diverse cultures and backgrounds
• Initiative and strict confidentiality in a hospital environment
