Lead Veterinarian - Small Animal GP

About the role

The Gables Veterinary Group, an established small animal general practice with a loyal client base, is opening a new chapter under new leadership and is looking for an experienced Lead Veterinarian. You will combine hands-on clinical work with leadership and mentorship, helping shape the clinic's culture, clinical standards and future direction.

Key responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care in a varied small animal GP caseload
• Shape the clinic's culture, clinical standards and future direction
• Support the team and promote clinical excellence
• Mentor and develop the veterinary team
• Work with the leadership team to set the practice's direction
• Maintain high standards of clinical care and patient outcomes

Required profile

• 5+ years' experience in small animal general practice
• Bachelor or Doctor of Veterinary Science degree, registered with the ACT Veterinary Practitioners Board
• Strong clinical skills across medical and surgical cases
• Confident providing leadership, guidance and mentorship; previous Lead Vet title not required
