Lead Senior Systems Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Systems Engineer you will play a hands‑on technical leadership role within the Infrastructure Support team, designing, supporting and continuously improving core infrastructure platforms across on‑premises and Azure‑connected environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain Azure Local, Azure‑connected services, AKS, Windows Server, Hyper‑V and HPE infrastructure.
• Automate infrastructure administration and repeatable tasks using PowerShell, PowerShell remoting and Ansible Automation Platform.
• Manage platform lifecycle activities including upgrades, patching, capacity planning and end‑of‑life remediation.
• Monitor performance, capacity and availability with Azure Monitor and SCOM.
• Maintain backup, recovery and disaster‑recovery arrangements using Commvault.
• Support incident, problem and change management processes and reduce recurring issues.
• Mentor and support other engineers, contribute to standards and roadmaps.

Required profile

• 7‑8 years of systems or infrastructure engineering experience, including senior technical responsibilities.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and communication skills with ability to work with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience with ITIL incident, problem and change management practices.
• Exposure to SQL, enterprise databases, Python or Agile delivery environments is beneficial.

Required skills

• Microsoft infrastructure: Windows Server, Hyper‑V, Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM/Microsoft Configuration Manager, SCOM, PowerShell.
• Azure: Azure Local, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Monitor, scripting (Shell, PowerShell).
• Automation: PowerShell, Ansible Automation Platform.
• Backup & recovery: Commvault.
• Infrastructure: HPE servers, Linux administration, networking, storage, security and vulnerability remediation.
