Lead Civil Engineer – Land Development

About the role

As a Lead Civil Engineer you will steer land development and civil infrastructure projects from concept through construction, working on a diverse portfolio that includes water programs, industrial sites and major urban initiatives. You will combine technical expertise with client leadership while mentoring junior engineers and strengthening Aurecon’s Adelaide capability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver land development and civil infrastructure projects across design and construction phases.
• Oversee preparation of civil engineering designs, drawings and technical documentation.
• Provide technical leadership for roads, drainage, earthworks, municipal works, water and sewer reticulation, and industrial infrastructure.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients such as SA Water, local councils and other authorities.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team capability uplift.
• Collaborate with teams across South Australia and other states (VIC, QLD, WA).
• Ensure designs comply with Australian and South Australian standards and authority approvals.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Strong experience in land development and/or civil infrastructure design.
• Demonstrated experience within the South Australian market (highly desirable).
• Proven ability to lead projects and mentor engineers through the full project lifecycle.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 12D design software.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
