Junior IT Support Officer

About the role

Optimate is looking for a Junior IT Support Officer in Brisbane, QLD. The role suits someone early in their IT career who wants hands-on experience across support, systems, devices, backups, security checks and day-to-day IT operations. It involves daily checks, monthly maintenance and general IT support.

Key responsibilities

• Check and triage the IT admin inbox
• Review invoices, especially Azure usage charges
• Monitor Microsoft security alerts and service health
• Check Exchange message quarantine
• Monitor device alerts and patch compliance through NinjaRMM
• Check phone system status
• Monthly: review NAS backup jobs, drive health and updates; check Wasabi cloud backups; run WordPress updates and health checks; review enrolled devices in Azure AD
• Update 3CX call flows based on staff rosters, set up and retire laptops and devices, and help with onboarding and offboarding
• Troubleshoot general IT issues, keep asset registers and IT documentation up to date, and review software licensing numbers and plans

Required profile

• Some experience in IT support, service desk or junior sysadmin work is a plus
• Confident following processes and staying on top of recurring tasks
• Strong attention to detail and enjoys solving problems and helping people
• Good time management and keen to learn new systems and tools

• Microsoft 365, Exchange and Azure AD
• NinjaRMM or similar device management tools
• Backups, NAS devices, cloud storage, 3CX, WordPress and laptop setup and asset tracking
