Junior Buyer – Procurement for Rolling Stock Interior Parts

About the role

Alstom is seeking a Junior Buyer to join its Rolling Stock Sourcing team at the Dandenong manufacturing site. You will support the procurement of interior components for rail projects, ensuring timely delivery and cost‑effective sourcing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage supplier relationships to guarantee scalability, cost efficiency and on‑time delivery of interior parts.
• Collaborate with engineering, logistics and project teams to align sourcing strategies with production schedules.
• Conduct supplier audits, risk assessments and proactive risk mitigation.
• Identify new sourcing opportunities and implement digital tools such as SAP Ariba.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of experience in procurement or strategic sourcing.
• Strong understanding of category management and contract negotiation techniques.
• Ability to analyse supplier performance using KPIs and cost models.
• Collaborative mindset with effective cross‑functional communication.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP for procurement and inventory control.
• Proficiency in SAP Ariba or similar digital procurement platforms.
• Knowledge of KPI analysis for supplier performance.
