Technical Production & Operations Officer

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Technical Production and Operations team within the Cultural and Community Hub of Greater Dandenong City Council. You will help deliver high‑quality technical, production and operational services for cultural, civic and community venues.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating hirers to understand their technical requirements and ensure optimal performance and audience satisfaction.
• Supervise technical support staff as directed.
• Provide excellent technical and customer service for performances, functions and events across all cultural and community hubs.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment for all events.
• Ensure all equipment is well‑maintained, audited, set up correctly and runs smoothly during events.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in a technical field, or equivalent specialist qualifications with limited work experience.
• Demonstrated experience in technical operation of live theatre, performing arts centres or community venues.
• Experience across theatre lighting, sound or staging.
• Ability to support and guide technical staff.
• Proven ability to work flexibly within a small team and meet both group and individual goals.
