About the role
Mount Isa Mines is seeking an experienced Jumbo Operator to safely operate Jumbo development drills, mine headings and install ground support in line with mine standards at the George Fisher Mine. The role follows a 7‑on/7‑off roster covering both day and night shifts.
Key responsibilities
- Operate Jumbo development drills to mine to design, on grade, on line and on time.
- Ensure correct signage and barricades are in place at all times.
- Minimise equipment damage, report any damage and wash down the Jumbo after use.
- Complete shift reports and communicate accurate information to the next shift.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
- Follow all safety practices and procedures while working.
Required profile
- At least 4 years of experience operating a Jumbo.
- Ability to operate Sandvik Axera 7, DD420 or DD421 development drills.
- Proven safety and performance record in a mining environment.
Required skills
- Operation of Sandvik Axera 7 development drill.
- Operation of DD420 development drill.
- Operation of DD421 development drill.
- General Jumbo equipment operation.
