Underground Operator – Fixed Plant Maintenance

About the role

Glencore Mount Isa Mines is seeking an experienced Underground Operator to join the Fixed Plant Maintenance team at George Fisher Mine. You will support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the underground crushing and conveying system while working on a 7/7 rotating day and night shift roster.

Key responsibilities

• Operate underground conveyor systems and mobile equipment to support crushing and conveying operations.
• Conduct pre‑start inspections of the crushing plant and perform minor servicing and repairs.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards, including loader operation, mucking, spill re‑handling and waste disposal.
• Monitor, operate and replace dewatering equipment as required.
• Assist with planned and unplanned shutdown activities.
• Communicate with Mine Control to ensure safe and efficient crushing and hoisting activities.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance safety and reliability.

Required profile

• Previous experience in underground mining and fixed‑plant operations and maintenance.
• Ability to work on a 7/7 continuous rotating shift roster.
• Commitment to safety, operational excellence and teamwork.
