Lubrication Technician

About the role

The Lubrication Technician will be based in Mount Isa and report to the Engineer Reliability. This residential, on‑site role is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, repairing and improving oil and grease systems across the Lead Smelter to maximise plant life and availability.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a safety‑first culture and comply with all site safety standards, procedures and legislative requirements.
• Conduct routine condition monitoring inspections, including vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasonic inspections, oil sampling and visual checks.
• Use CMMS and condition monitoring software to trend equipment health data, identify defects and recommend corrective actions.
• Execute lubrication schedules for rotating and critical assets, performing oil changes, grease applications, contamination control and lubricant top‑ups.
• Maintain lubrication equipment and storage systems, ensuring best‑practice contamination control.
• Coordinate lubricant sampling and laboratory analysis, and support failure investigations and root‑cause analysis.
