Internal Communications Specialist (Part-Time)

About the role

Cement Australia is seeking a part-time Internal Communications Specialist to build its internal communications function from the ground up. There is currently no dedicated internal communications function, and the business serves a wide range of employees, including frontline and shift-based teams who do not sit at desks. The role is a part-time contract position of about 20 hours per week for an initial 16-week term.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Executive team to develop an internal communications strategy
• Build a practical toolkit of templates, guides and standards for teams
• Create tailored strategies for reaching frontline and EA-covered employees, including those with limited computer access or varying digital literacy
• Support the Employee Value Proposition project and other initiatives across the business
• Guide leaders and help them improve their communication with their teams

Required profile

• Proven experience in an internal communications function within a related heavy-industry environment
• Genuine interest and experience in reaching frontline, blue-collar, shift-based and/or lower-digital-access employees
• Experience designing templates, style guides or communications standards from scratch
• Comfortable working autonomously in a part-time capacity
• Confident, credible communicator with leaders at all levels
