Internal Audit Senior Manager

About the role

We are looking for an Internal Audit Senior Manager to join our new and growing internal audit team. You will coordinate internal audits, make recommendations to improve governance, risk management and internal controls, and supervise team activities. This role offers the chance to develop and deliver audits in a fast‑paced, data‑driven environment while shaping our audit operations and methodologies.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation and operation of the internal audit assurance framework, including continuous monitoring and automated audit routines.
• Assist in developing the annual audit plan, audit universe, risk assessment and budgeting processes.
• Deliver audits according to the plan to ensure timely and relevant outcomes.
• Build and maintain a strong, self‑sufficient internal audit team.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and measure effectiveness of improvements.
• Develop strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Clear working knowledge of financial crime, risk management, governance and regulatory processes, with audit experience in these areas.
• Working knowledge of Australian regulatory frameworks for payments, fintech and financial services (APRA, AUSTRAC, ASIC).
• Familiarity with New Zealand payments and financial services sector.
• Experience overseeing planning, staffing, delivery and reporting of multiple audit engagements.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of complex areas and solve problems with limited guidance.
• Strong coordination skills, attention to detail and ability to summarise key messages for varied audiences.
