Inhouse Architect – Restaurant Design

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Inhouse Architect to lead the design and documentation of Burger Urge restaurants across Australia. You will work from concept through construction, ensuring each venue meets brand standards, operational efficiency and commercial viability.

Key responsibilities

• Design new restaurant venues from initial concept to construction documentation.
• Prepare feasibility layouts to support site assessments and lease negotiations.
• Produce tender set documentation for certification, pricing and construction.
• Coordinate structural, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and fire engineering consultants.
• Develop documentation for refurbishments and venue refresh projects.
• Maintain and evolve architectural standards and prototype designs.
• Collaborate with landlords, certifiers and consultants to secure project approvals.
• Support the construction team to ensure design intent is achieved and identify opportunities for operational and buildability improvements.

Required profile

• Degree in Architecture; registration or working towards registration is highly regarded.
• Minimum five years’ experience delivering retail, hospitality or QSR projects.
• Strong technical knowledge, meticulous attention to detail and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced AutoCAD (essential).
• Revit (desirable).
• Knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian Standards.
• Understanding of accessibility standards.
