Import and Export Team Leader

About the role

Lead the Import & Export team at James Hardie, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant movement of international and coastal freight through the Carole Park distribution centre.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily import/export activities, freight documentation and coordination with carriers, customs and quarantine authorities.
• Monitor health, safety and Chain of Responsibility compliance, drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Coach and support the team, resolve operational issues and act as primary contact for day‑to‑day matters.
• Support warehouse administration, inventory management and ensure accurate WMS/TMS transactions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in warehousing, distribution, export operations or related administration.
• Valid Forklift Licence (LF) with safe operation experience in export/warehouse settings.
• Previous experience in a Leading Hand or Team Leader capacity is desirable.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of export and distribution operations, including bookings, carrier cut‑offs and basic customs/quarantine requirements.
• Understanding of road transport safety, CoR and Heavy Vehicle National Law obligations.
• Proficiency with WMS/TMS, MS Office (Excel, Outlook) and scanner/RF workflows.
• Experience in pallet configuration, load restraint and export‑ready packing.
