Implementation Specialist - Global Seller Onboarding

About the role

Square's Global Seller Onboarding (GSO) team works directly with its largest and most complex sellers to make sure they get full value from Square's products and services. As an Implementation Specialist you will lead the technical onboarding and activation of new merchants, delivering a seamless, scalable and high-quality experience. You will work cross-functionally with Sales, Account Management, Product, Engineering and Customer Success, mainly for SMB sellers, and may also engage pre-sale to support discovery, solution validation and the positioning of professional services.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with sellers after sales to support scoping, planning and solution validation.
• Advise on and document Square's product capabilities and limitations so expectations are clear and accurate.
• Own and manage several onboarding projects at once, balancing priorities, timelines and resources.
• Build strong partnerships with Sales and Account Management, and collaborate with technical partners, communicating technical requirements clearly.
• Identify and manage risk throughout onboarding, keeping stakeholders informed.
• Support data entry and data migration for selected sellers.
• Act as a liaison between sellers and Product, turning requirements into feature requests and roadmap input.
• Drive process improvements using scalable AI-powered automation.
• Travel up to 10% for client meetings, hardware installations and internal events.

Required profile

• 3+ years in a customer-facing role, including 2+ years in project management, implementation or onboarding.
• Proven ability to manage several complex projects at once.
• Ability to turn complex requirements into tailored solutions and explain technical concepts simply.
• Experience in the POS, payments or broader technology industry.

• Working knowledge of project management methodologies, tools and best practices.
• Clear, concise communication of technical concepts.
