ICU Registrar / Senior Medical Officer

About the role

The ICU Registrar will provide 24/7 onsite medical care, assessment and coordination of patients within the ICU and HDU across Calvary Adelaide and Calvary North Adelaide Hospitals. You will work alongside senior intensivists and multidisciplinary teams, gaining exposure to complex medical and surgical cases.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality critical care and clinical support within the ICU.
• Coordinate ICU admissions and discharges with nursing staff.
• Participate in the ICU roster, including after‑hours and on‑call duties.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ICU experience with strong clinical competence.
• Leadership, communication and teamwork abilities in busy environments.
• Commitment to teaching and supervising medical, nursing and allied health staff.
• Current AHPRA registration or eligibility within 12 months, PGY3 or above with at least 6 months ICU experience and 12 months anaesthetic training.
• International Medical Graduates are welcome; visa sponsorship may be available.
