HR Manager - People & Development

About the role

A recruiter representing a client is seeking an experienced Manager – People & Development to lead the People function and give strategic and operational HR support across the business. The role works closely with the CEO, the executive team and managers, and is based in the Kwinana office, leading a small team of two staff in Perth while liaising with the Queensland office.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the People & Development function and deliver people initiatives aligned with business objectives
• Advise executives, managers and employees on HR, employee relations and industrial relations, including Enterprise Agreements
• Manage and develop a team of two People & Development professionals
• Lead performance management, leadership development and organisational capability programs
• Develop succession planning and workforce planning frameworks
• Review HR policies, employment documentation and people processes
• Liaise with external IR and legal advisers when needed
• Prepare HR, executive and board reports and contribute to organisational strategy

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, People & Development or a related discipline
• Demonstrated experience in a senior HR/People leadership role
• Knowledge of Australian employment legislation, industrial relations, modern awards and Enterprise Agreements
• Experience advising executive teams, managers and employees
• Experience managing remuneration, benefits and performance frameworks
• Experience leading and developing a high-performing team

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills

What we offer

• Salary highly negotiable, with up to 15% performance bonus
• Senior leadership position reporting directly to the CEO
• 38-hour week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm
