HR Business Partner - Employee Relations

About the role

An Australian organisation with a large, geographically dispersed workforce and a lean, high-performing HR team is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner for a 3-month contract in Sydney, with potential for extensions. Reporting to the Head of Shared Services, the role supports a client group of around 700-800 employees across several states. It is a hands-on position with a strong employee relations focus, supporting leaders through a high volume of people matters with practical, commercially minded advice.

Key responsibilities

• Manage performance and conduct matters
• Handle workplace investigations and grievances
• Coach leaders through employee relations issues
• Provide timely, risk-based advice and guidance
• Support leaders within a leader-led HR model
• Build strong relationships across a diverse stakeholder group

Required profile

• Experienced HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor
• Comfortable working autonomously and able to build credibility quickly with key stakeholders
• Immediate availability to start

• Proven experience managing complex employee relations matters
• Strong knowledge of employment law and employee relations
• Experience across investigations, grievances and performance management
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Practical, commercially focused approach
