HPLC Lab Technician

About the role

The Food & Pharmaceutical laboratory in Rydalmere (NSW) is looking for a Laboratory Technician to join its chemistry team on a permanent basis. This hands-on role covers preparing samples for analytical testing, ensuring accurate results within holding times, assessing results against expected values for food matrices and keeping lab operations efficient and safe to meet client turnaround goals. It is a full-time position, Monday to Friday 09:00am to 5:00pm.

Key responsibilities

• Process and analyse samples within holding times, maintaining a high-quality standard
• Organise daily tasks to maximise efficiency
• Raise anomalies in results, sample type and sample matrix interference to the Team Leader or Supervisor for investigation
• Carry out housekeeping duties as required
• Calibrate equipment as directed by the Section Team Leader and/or QC Coordinator
• Perform calculations during analytical preparations and control consumable stock
• Complete proficiency activities at applicable sites and carry out other duties as requested

Required profile

• Minimum of a laboratory certificate or qualification in science, preferably chemistry
• 1 year of experience in a commercial, client-focused chemistry laboratory
• Experience in a high-throughput lab environment is desired
• Understanding of safety precautions when handling samples of unknown hazard
• Eligible to work in Australia (citizen or permanent resident, or holds or can obtain a valid working visa)
