Heavy Diesel Mechanic - Wodonga

About the role

Ron Finemore Transport is hiring a Heavy Diesel Mechanic for its Wodonga site maintenance facility in Northeast Victoria. This is a stable permanent full-time position in a modern fleet of European trucks and heavy trailers, within a safety-focused workshop. The role involves repairs, service and inspections on engines, transmissions, brakes, differentials, electrical and pneumatic systems, supported by diagnostic software.

Key responsibilities

• Repair, service and inspect engines, transmissions, brakes, differentials, electrical and pneumatic systems on truck and trailer equipment
• Analyse faults using supplied diagnostic software and computer equipment
• Produce clear digital repair order reports with work done and recommendations in priority order
• Support and guide apprentice technicians
• Work the on-call roster on a rotating basis

Required profile

• Mechanical trade certificate or qualification, or equivalent
• Own tools
• Experience in the heavy vehicle industry
• Experience with American or European drivelines is an advantage; trailer servicing experience preferred
• Driver's licence required (heavy vehicle licence advantageous)
• Ability to work independently and within a team, with effective communication and a commitment to safety
