Head of Legal – Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

This newly created senior legal position will support a fast‑growing renewable energy investment platform as it prepares for a potential ASX listing. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will work closely with senior leaders across People & Culture, Compliance and the broader executive team, shaping the company’s legal, governance and risk frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end legal advice on corporate, commercial, regulatory and compliance matters.
• Support ASX listing preparation, including governance framework design and policy development.
• Lead contract management, project documentation and stakeholder negotiations.
• Contribute to a governance, risk and compliance uplift programme with external advisors.
• Develop and implement compliance frameworks, risk policies and corporate governance structures.
• Advise on regulatory submissions, corporate transactions and FIRB applications.
• Partner with senior leadership to ensure robust legal and risk oversight.
• Deliver internal training to foster a proactive compliance culture.
• Provide legal solutions for international and cross‑cultural teams across the APAC region.

Required profile

• Australian‑qualified lawyer with 5–7+ years post‑qualification experience.
• Background in‑house (asset owner, developer, EPC, or energy/infrastructure) or private practice with energy, infrastructure or project finance exposure.
• Experience with ASX listing readiness and/or FIRB applications is highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of corporate governance, compliance and risk management frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic and proactive problem‑solver.
• Leadership experience or readiness to progress into senior legal leadership.
• Exposure to international or APAC‑based organisations is advantageous.
