Head Chef

About the role

NRMA Parks & Resorts is hiring a Head Chef for its two Tasmanian properties: Pumphouse Point, an intimate adults-only retreat on Lake St Clair, and the nearby Derwent Bridge Hotel, which has a bar and restaurant. The role suits a chef who enjoys variety, takes pride in beautifully prepared food and wants to create memorable dining experiences for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present dishes to a consistently high standard, bringing creativity, passion and attention to detail to every service
• Showcase contemporary dishes and make the most of quality local produce
• Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen and Food & Beverage teams
• Maintain high standards of food safety, kitchen cleanliness and organisation
• Support the smooth running of kitchen operations across both properties

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Chef in a high-quality restaurant, hotel or resort environment
• High-end dining experience, particularly suited to the guest experience at Pumphouse Point
• Formal qualifications in Commercial Cookery
• A genuine passion for creating and presenting contemporary food using local produce
• Ability to work productively in a busy hospitality environment and to work across both properties
