HD Mechanic - Component Rebuilds

About the role

BTP, part of the Perenti Group, is one of Australia's largest suppliers of machinery rental, parts and services to the mining, construction and earth-moving industries. It is looking for suitably qualified Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanics to join its Component Rebuild Centre in Mackay in full-time permanent positions. The centre rebuilds predominantly Caterpillar drive-line components to OEM specifications, carries out diagnostic testing and fault finding, interprets specifications and critical measurements, and ensures compliance with safety, quality and contamination control guidelines.

Required profile

• Automotive or Engineering Trade Certificate
• Components rebuild experience on Caterpillar equipment preferred
• Rebuild experience on transmissions, torque converters, differentials, final drives or wheel groups
• Valid high-risk work licence, forklift and dogging licences
• Valid Australian driver's licence
• Ability to meet all requirements, including passing a pre-employment medical

Required skills

• Competent computer skills; experience with MS Office and Caterpillar SIS preferred
• Knowledge and application of occupational health and safety in the workplace
