Handyperson - Hotel Maintenance

About the role

Stamford Hotels and Resorts, part of the Stamford Group, is looking for a skilled and proactive Handyperson to join its Engineering team at Stamford Plaza Melbourne. You will help keep the hotel's electrical systems running smoothly and handle general maintenance so guests and staff stay in a safe, efficient and welcoming environment. This is a permanent full-time position with rotating shifts including weekends, based in Little Collins Street, Melbourne CBD.

Key responsibilities

• Support day-to-day maintenance of guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house facilities
• Carry out general repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the property
• Assist with plumbing, painting, electrical and carpentry tasks as needed
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and follow up in a timely way
• Help the Engineering team with scheduled maintenance programs and safety checks
• Maintain high standards of presentation, safety and guest satisfaction

Required profile

• A relevant trade qualification or general maintenance experience is highly regarded
• Previous experience in a maintenance or handyperson role, preferably in hospitality or commercial buildings
• Proactive, "can-do" attitude and strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and time management skills
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends if required
