Group AML/CTF Regulatory Lead

About the role

As a Senior Manager in Financial Crime, you will lead ANZ's AML/CTF standards capability, maintaining and evolving enterprise frameworks, policies and obligations management practices. You will provide strategic advice, regulatory engagement and governance oversight to ensure AML/CTF risk is effectively managed across the Group.

Key responsibilities

• Own and lead the development, approval, maintenance and effectiveness of ANZ’s enterprise AML/CTF program, policy, standards and guidance.
• Interpret AML/CTF laws, rules and supervisory expectations, translating them into clear, proportionate enterprise requirements.
• Lead regulatory change assessment, impact analysis, stakeholder consultation and implementation planning.
• Provide authoritative AML/CTF advice and constructive challenge to senior leaders and business stakeholders.
• Oversee AML/CTF governance, reporting and decision‑making, ensuring proper documentation and escalation.
• Monitor effectiveness of AML/CTF requirements using risk data, assurance outcomes and stakeholder feedback, and sponsor improvements.
• Partner on regulatory engagement, consultation responses and industry matters.
• Lead, coach and develop the Group AML/CTF team and shape the capability roadmap.

Required profile

• Expert knowledge of AML/CTF legislation, regulatory obligations and supervisory expectations for large financial institutions.
• Extensive experience developing, interpreting and governing enterprise AML/CTF programs, policies and frameworks.
• Proven ability to translate complex legal requirements into practical, risk‑based controls.
• Strong experience leading AML/CTF regulatory change and obligations management.
• Excellent written communication skills for policy documents, executive briefings and regulatory content.
• Demonstrated people leadership and capability development in a regulated environment.
