Graduate Speech Pathologist

About the role

Join Optimum Health Solutions in Hobart as a Graduate Speech Pathologist, working with NDIS and disability‑focused clients across adult and paediatric populations. You will shape your caseload around communication disorders, dysphagia, AAC or a mixed mix, with mentorship from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose communication disorders, including speech, language and social communication.
• Conduct functional communication assessments and develop evidence‑based therapy plans.
• Assess and manage swallowing difficulties (dysphagia) and design low‑ and high‑tech AAC solutions.
• Provide education to parents, caregivers and stakeholders and collaborate with allied health, educators and medical professionals.
• Deliver services in community, clinic and school settings, travelling as required.

Required profile

• Degree in Speech Pathology or final‑year student.
• SPA eligibility or Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status.
• Current driver’s licence, vehicle access, Working With Children Check and National Police Check.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

Required skills

• Communication disorder assessment.
• Dysphagia assessment and management.
• AAC device design and implementation.
