GIS Analyst – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

SMEC is seeking a GIS Analyst to join its Brisbane team and support major infrastructure projects across Queensland and ANZ. You will contribute to map production, spatial data management, and the development of data collection applications.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the creation of maps and graphics for project deliverables.
• Manage spatial data sets and perform advanced spatial analysis.
• Develop and maintain data collection apps for field teams.
• Promote GIS best practices and capabilities within the business.
• Support web GIS platforms, including web maps, dashboards, and Experience Builder applications.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional experience in a GIS role, preferably within engineering, environmental or infrastructure consulting.
• Strong proficiency with desktop GIS, especially ArcGIS Pro.
• Demonstrated ability in cartographic design and producing high‑quality mapping products.
• Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise/ArcGIS Online and web GIS development.
• Familiarity with field data collection tools such as FieldMaps, Survey123, Quick Capture, and Fulcrum.
