Geotechnical Engineer – Mining Operations

About the role

Join Catalyst Metals, an ASX‑listed gold mining company, to provide hands‑on geotechnical support for both underground and open‑pit operations on the Plutonic Gold Belt in Western Australia. You will work closely with mining engineers to ensure safe, efficient and sustainable production.

Key responsibilities

• Provide geotechnical support ensuring compliance with company and statutory requirements.
• Supply geotechnical input to mine design, scheduling and the design of stopes, spans and pillars.
• Monitor and assess performance of geotechnical designs and ground support.
• Investigate occurrences, conduct risk assessments and make recommendations.
• Perform core logging, seismic data processing, and update the Ground Control Management Plan.

Required profile

• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent.
• Current WA "C" class driver’s licence.
• Relevant mining industry experience.
• Knowledge of WA Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and related regulations.

Required skills

• Deswik software proficiency.
• Dips & Unwedge geotechnical software.
• Microsoft Office.
• Seismic data processing and analysis.
• Ground support design and monitoring.
• Geotechnical numerical modelling.
