General Manager

About the role

Lead the iconic Cradle Mountain Hotel, delivering exceptional guest experiences and strong commercial outcomes in a stunning wilderness setting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the leadership team to achieve operational excellence and guest satisfaction.
• Drive financial performance through budgeting, forecasting, reporting and cost management.
• Oversee business planning and budget development for the property.
• Ensure compliance with WHS, legislative and company requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with local community groups, tourism partners and stakeholders.
• Provide strategic oversight of the Cradle Mountain Wilderness Gallery.
• Champion a positive team culture aligned with company values.
• Travel intrastate as required.

Required profile

• 5+ years senior leadership experience as General Manager or Assistant General Manager in hotel property management.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting and operational performance.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop high‑performing teams.
• Excellent organisational, planning and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Hands‑on leadership style adaptable to a dynamic environment.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and memorable guest experiences.
• Experience in remote area tourism/hospitality operations.
• Current valid Working with Vulnerable People check and ability to hold licensee accreditation.
• First aid certification.

Required skills

• Relevant qualifications in hospitality, business or related field (highly regarded).
