Full‑Time Receptionist – Veterinary Clinic

About the role

Join Greencross Vets Bedford as the friendly face of the clinic. In this full‑time receptionist position you will be the first point of contact for pet owners and play a key part in delivering a warm, supportive experience for every client and their animal.

Key responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients on arrival
• Answer phone calls, manage enquiries and schedule appointments using the practice management system
• Process payments, handle receipting and manage client emails
• Prepare patient admission paperwork and estimates for elective procedures
• Assist with patient triage after training
• Provide general advice on vaccinations, nutrition and parasite prevention
• Support veterinary and nursing teams with day‑to‑day clinic operations
• Perform banking and general administrative duties

Required profile

• People‑person who thrives in a busy environment
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and stay organised under pressure
• Passion for animal welfare and a desire to help pet owners

Required skills

• Experience using a practice management system for scheduling and client records
• Basic cash handling and payment processing
• Proficiency with email and general office software
